Tottenham Hotspur would stand to make a profit of £175million if they sold Harry Kane - the largest value added to any player in Europe's top five leagues.
Because Kane is a Spurs academy product, any money gained from selling him would be pure profit and the England striker just edges out Lionel Messi of Barcelona, according to the CIES Football Observatory.
Their research suggests Messi, a product of the Barcelona academy but six years older than Kane, would bring in £173m if the Spanish club ever decided to sell him.
