Manchester City rode an early Riyad Mahrez goal to a 1-0 victory against Tottenham at Wembley Stadium on Monday night to go level at the top of the Premier League table with Liverpool on 26 points.
The "home" game for Spurs was played on a rough-looking Wembley pitch still showing the lines from Sunday's National Football League match between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mahrez gave his team ahead on six minutes, slamming a first-time shot from a Raheem Sterling pass into an empty net after Kieran Trippier had misplayed a long ball over the top of Tottenham's defence.
