Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy takes pot shot at Premier League rivals' spending as he claims they 'have the ability to distort the market' in rare statement after Spurs' published their financial results

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has taken aim at the spending power of Manchester City and others, saying the Premier League 'is now vested in the hands of a few who dominate and have the ability to distort the market'.

Levy's rare statement accompanied Tottenham's latest financial results as he accepted his club have made costly transfer mistakes. Both Tanguy Ndombele, who cost £55million in 2019, and Giovani Lo Celso, who signed for £27.2m in 2020, are currently out on loan.

Tottenham's total revenue increased from £361.9m to £440m for the year ending June 2022, the first full season in which fans were allowed back into stadiums following the Covid-19 pandemic.
