Football pundits Ian Wright and Danny Murphy have boldly claimed that for Liverpool and Chelsea, catching up to Manchester City 'is like climbing Everest'.
Jurgen Klopp's side have leapfrogged Chelsea into second place and are Pep Guardiola's closest challengers, however the Citizens still have an 11 point lead over Liverpool.
With other teams suffering with injuries and losing important players to the Africa Cup of Nations, Wright and Murphy feel that the task of overtaking City may be insurmountable.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Wright said: 'Manchester City are flying, so it's going to take a lot for anybody to take points off of them.
