'To catch City is like climbing Everest': Pundits weigh in on Premier League title race after champions dismissed challengers Chelsea... but warn Pep Guardiola that 'Everest has been climbed before'

Football pundits Ian Wright and Danny Murphy have boldly claimed that for Liverpool and Chelsea, catching up to Manchester City 'is like climbing Everest'.

Jurgen Klopp's side have leapfrogged Chelsea into second place and are Pep Guardiola's closest challengers, however the Citizens still have an 11 point lead over Liverpool.

With other teams suffering with injuries and losing important players to the Africa Cup of Nations, Wright and Murphy feel that the task of overtaking City may be insurmountable.
