Jamie Carragher has sarcastically reacted to Manchester City being charged with breaking the Premier League's financial rules.

The Liverpool legend, 45, joked that the Sky Blues bring in more commercial revenue than some of Europe's biggest clubs.

He tweeted: 'This can't be right, Man City bring in more commercial revenue than Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Man Utd & Liverpool.'

The breaches stretch from the 2009-10 season to the 2017-18 campaign.

The club are alleged to have breached rules relating to the provision of accurate financial information,' in particular with respect to its revenue (including sponsorship revenue), its related parties and its operating costs,' the league said.
