Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel believes he has triggered an automatic contract extension by winning the club’s second Champions League.
The German signed an 18-month deal when he arrived as Frank Lampard’s successor in January but he says Saturday’s euphoric win over Manchester City means his contract has been extended until at least 2023.
‘I think that I have a clause that makes my contract a bit longer if I win the Premier League or the Champions League,’ said Tuchel. ‘I’m not 100 per cent sure but my manager said it some weeks ago.
