Kevin De Bruyne has hailed Sergio Aguero as football’s low-key superstar after the Manchester City star became the Premier League’s record overseas goalscorer.
Aguero’s hat-trick for City at Aston Villa on Sunday took to him to 177 goals in the competition – beyond Thierry Henry’s mark of 175.
The 31-year-old has little media profile beyond his exploits on the pitch and De Bruyne paid tribute to his team-mate’s humility.
He said: ‘I’ve been playing with Sergio for five years, and the record he has got speaks for itself.
