In a typically-competitive season at the top and bottom of the Premier League, plenty of clubs have found themselves coping without their captains.

Through injury, selection issues and suspension problems a number of sides have been shorn of their regular skippers, forced to find replacements for their club captains.

After the club captains were selected as the teams' leaders at the start of the campaign, some of the biggest personalities in the Premier League have been replaced by stand-ins this season.
