Manchester City have had a memorable season but their defeat to Liverpool ended their hopes of winning this 2017/18 Champions League.
The Citizens were second best for most of their two-legged quarter-final encounter against the Reds, leaving all associated with City very frustrated.
Having succumbed to a resounding 3-0 defeat in the first leg at Anfield, City made the ideal start at the Etihad – opening the scoring inside two minutes courtesy of Gabriel Jesus' assured finish.
Pep Guardiola's side had the Reds pinned back for most of the first-half and they were unlucky not to take a 2-0 lead just before the break when Leroy Sane had a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside.
