Sevilla president Jose Castro has said the club have initiated "contacts" about the return of Jesus Navas once his Manchester City contract ends in the summer.
Navas looks set to leave the Etihad Stadium after four years at the club and reports in Spain have said the 31-year-old would welcome a return to Sevilla, whom he left in 2013.
Castro told the club's official website: "No negotiations have started, but there have been contacts."
Navas, a Sevilla youth product, made 388 appearances over 10 seasons for the club, and sporting director Oscar Arias has said he believes he would be a great addition.
