Sergio Aguero involved in ugly clash with Wigan fan on the pitch and Manchester City fans throw hoardings at police after their shock FA Cup exit

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero struck a Wigan Athletic fan and had to be held back by assistant manager Mikel Arteta as tensions boiled over after his team's shock FA Cup exit on Monday night.

Wigan fans invaded the pitch at the DW Stadium at the full-time whistle after Will Grigg's winner had sealed victory for the League One side.

But Aguero reacted furiously to the celebrations of one supporter, hitting out at him with a swipe of his right arm and then chasing him down before Arteta intervened.
