Sergio Aguero fears the Argentina axe after another miserable night at international level completely contradicted his club form.
The Manchester City striker missed a penalty during his country's 1-0 defeat by Paraguay on Tuesday night and has not found the net in six games for Argentina.
There were injury concerns about Aguero in the days before after he pulled out of training with a calf problem, but the player was adamant he would play after a scan on Monday.
But afterwards Aguero admitted he would not be surprised if Edgardo Bauza dropped him for crunch World Cup qualifiers away in Brazil and home against Colombia next month.
