Santos will demand Robinho's contract is TERMINATED if former Brazil star fails to successfully appeal against nine-year sentence for gang rape in Italy... but club president will allow him to play on if he is acquitted

Robinho's contract with Santos will be terminated unless his appeal against a nine-year sentence for gang rape in Italy is successful.

The club president Orlando Rollo will permit the 36-year-old former Manchester City striker to play on for the Brazilian side if acquitted.

The club have currently suspended Robinho's contract while the appeal process is ongoing and he denies the charges. He was sentenced to nine years in prison by an Italian court three years ago for his part in the gang rape of a 22-year-old Albanian woman at a Milan nightclub in 2013.
