Aleksandar Kolarov has joined Roma on a permanent deal from Manchester City - paving the way for Pep Guardiola to make Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy the world’s most expensive defender.
Kolarov’s anticipated move to the Stadio Olimpico has been confirmed, as his exit sees him become the fourth full-back to leave City since the end of the season, following Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta.
The Serbian spent seven years at the Etihad Stadium, as the club lifted two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups.
He is set to link up with the Serie A giants in Boston during their pre-season tour of the USA to commence the next phase of silverware-laden career.
