Riyad Mahrez is drawing closer to a move to the Saudi Pro League after Al Ahli agreed a £30m fee for the Manchester City winger.
The Saudi outfit had earlier upped their starting bid of £18.5m to £27m but have been forced to go higher still after the Citizens rejected both proposals.
Mahrez will be free to proceed with his medical after being left out of Man City's tour of Japan which gets underway on Thursday.
Mail Sport understands that the Algerian leaves the Etihad with a heavy heart in the knowledge that his top-flight career in England is effectively over.
