Benjamin Mendy looked on his way out of Manchester City after struggling for form, fitness and playing time last season, but Stuart Brennan of the Manchester Evening News doesn’t believe Pep Guardiola is planning to replace him.
He wrote: ‘Their priorities are on other positions. So, I think they’re going to have to stick to what they’ve got at left-back and they didn’t pay £52 million to get Mendy for nothing.’
The French international joined City from AS Monaco in 2017 and has gone on to make 73 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals with 12 assists.
