Report: Man City ‘held talks’ with PL rivals over deal for 28 y/o, deal could be agreed next week

Manchester City are desperate to lure Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur before the summer transfer window shuts and the Daily Mail say they’ve ‘held talks’ with the Lilywhites over a deal that could be agreed next week.

Kane is open to leaving Tottenham and would like to join City, but Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy is resisting the Sky Blues’ pursuit and hopes he can keep his best player in North London.

The 28-year-old has made 336 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham, scoring 221 goals with 47 assists. He bagged 33 goals with 17 assists in 49 games and scored four goals in seven games for England during the 2020 European Championships, so it’s easy to see why Pep Guardiola is keen.
