Player won’t leave, club want new deal – Man City won’t sanction transfer for 26 y/o [Opinion]

Raheem Sterling continues to be linked with a move away and the Mirror believe it’s Tottenham Hotspur that he’s going to. Sarah Rendell says the 26-year-old will be used as a makeweight to sign Harry Kane, but the likelihood of such a deal getting over the line is slim for a myriad reasons.

Tottenham can’t afford Sterling’s wage demands

The England international currently earns £15.6m-a-year/£300k-per-week at City which is more than every Tottenham player. Harry Kane is the highest-earner and takes home £10.4m-a-year/£200k-per-week, so it’s hard to see the North London outfit breaking their wage structure for Sterling.
