A player at Mexican club Monterrey was reportedly hospitalised and required ten stitches after clashing with his manager, who is a former Manchester City cult hero.
As reported by Marca, there is now uncertainty over whether the player will be able to feature against Guadalajara on Sunday.
The player is said to have suffered a badly cut leg.
Monterrey, who are in ninth place in the table, have won just one of their last five games.
The player is reported to have kicked a glass door following an argument with his manager.
