Pep Guardiola's Bundesliga bogey team set to trouble Manchester City as Gladbach relish the underdog tag

Pep Guardiola said this week that Manchester City are not yet good enough to win the Champions League, and he has reason to be wary ahead of his team's opening fixture against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Gladbach were a bogey team for Guardiola during his time at Bayern Munich. In a dominant three years, no other club took as many points from Guardiola's Bayern as old rivals Borussia.

Guardiola's record against Gladbach started well, as Bayern beat them 3-1 in the first Bundesliga fixture under Guardiola in August 2013. Later that season, they beat them again away from home.
