Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made tying Fernandinho down to a new deal his priority, according to reports.
It was unclear where the 31-year-old would fit into Guardiola's new-look City team but he has emerged as one of the Spaniardr's key players.
Fernandinho has not missed a minute of City's first seven Premier League games as they have climbed to the top of the table with six wins and one defeat.
However, according to Sport, Guardiola is wary of the Brazilian's current situation and wants to get him tied down to a new deal.
