Pep Guardiola has apologised to Kalvin Phillips for not selecting him often for his Manchester City team.
The City boss said he is 'so sorry' for the midfielder but 'struggles to visualise' him in his team.
The 28-year-old has made just eight appearances this campaign and the rumour mill is in overdrive about a possible January exit from the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola said: ''I don’t know what will happen to Kalvin Phillips. He has good character, I’m so sorry I have not picked him.
'I visualise my team and select a team and I struggle to see him.
