Pep Guardiola has backed the right of Manchester City’s supporters to protest against the club’s ticketing policy ahead of a demonstration on Wednesday.

City fan groups plan to stay away from their seats for the opening nine minutes of the game against Leicester City to signal disenchantment at decisions around general selling practices and pricing.

Viagogo became the ninth external ticketing website used by City after signing a partnership last week, sparking mass criticism.

‘Football clubs belong to the people and if the people don’t agree with something… they can legitimately express concerns with the club,’ Guardiola said.
