The sight of Sergio Aguero failing from the spot is becoming all too familiar, but Pep Guardiola believes his striker has the strength of character to step forward again if Manchester City win a penalty in Barcelona on Wednesday night.
Aguero has now missed four attempts for club and country this season after his second-half effort was kept out by Everton’s Maarten Stekelenburg at the Etihad.
The Argentina striker has also failed to convert four of his last five penalties in Europe, including a costly miss in Barcelona when City crashed out of the Champions League two seasons ago.
