Pep Guardiola breaks silence after Liverpool ended Man City's four-year run as Premier League champions - as he admits 'hopefully next season we can be better'

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has broken his silence after Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions.

City had won a remarkable four league titles in a row but that sequence has now been ended by Arne Slot's Liverpool.

Liverpool's status as champions was confirmed following their 5-1 victory against Tottenham at Anfield.

Despite showing some signs of improvement recently, City have been well below their usual standards this season and are currently in fourth place - 21 points adrift of Liverpool.

Although Guardiola was left frustrated with City's showing this season he was eager to congratulate Liverpool.
