Manchester City thrashed Southampton 5-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday and Riyad Mahrez was one of many players who impressed. The 30-year-old scored two goals on the night and hit the woodwork with another effort to cap a brilliant performance.

Mahrez first goal was a low effort from the edge of the box that Alex McCarthy couldn’t get down quickly enough to save. He nearly bagged a second goal minutes later in similar circumstances, but his low effort hit the post and was put in by Ilkay Gundogan.
