Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Eric Garcia will miss Saturday’s Manchester derby and will be out of action for up to three weeks. He said: “Eric is not fit. He will be out for two or three weeks.”
The 19-year-old picked up a knock in Manchester City’s Champions League win over Olympique Marseille in midweek and now looks unlikely to feature again until 2021.
Not only will he miss the United clash, Garcia may now be absent for City’s Premier League meetings with West Bromwich Albion (December 15) and Southampton (December 19), EFL Cup meeting with Arsenal (December 22) and Premier League meetings with Newcastle United (December 26) and Everton (December 28).
