Bruno Guimaraes will resist the advances of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola because he believes he can win trophies at Newcastle.
Guardiola interrupted a TV interview following his side's 2-0 victory over Newcastle on Saturday to tell Guimaraes he was a 'good player', and City are known admirers of the midfielder.
However, after collecting his prize as the North-East Football Writers' Player of the Year on Sunday, the Brazilian stated his commitment to Newcastle.
Asked if he can achieve his ambitions at St James' Park and emulate the success of Guardiola and City, Guimaraes said: 'I think we can.
