Newcastle are not close to a £35million deal for Spanish wonderkid Gabri Veiga from Celta Vigo, despite fresh reports in Spain.
Veiga has broken into the Celta first team this season, and despite the team finding themselves in a relegation battle, he has been a standout performer, registering nine goals and four assists.
Mail Sport has previously reported that Manchester City and Real Madrid have been tracking the attacking midfielder.
The Magpies also hold an interest in Veiga, but despite media reports saying he is on the verge of finalising a move to St James' Park, no offer has yet been made.
