Michael Carrick's calming influence on the Manchester United midfield means he should be featuring more regularly under Jose Mourinho, according to former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy.
Carrick made just his third Premier League appearance of the season, his sixth in total, as the Red Devils beat Swansea 3-1 on Sunday, with United claiming victory each and every time Carrick has pulled on a red shirt this season.
That, and the fact he's still contributing at a high level despite the fact he is now 35, has led former Liverpool midfielder Murphy to call on Mourinho to use the former Tottenham man more regularly.
