Manchester City’s heavy investment in youth appears to be paying dividends – especially if Saturday's results are any indication.
The club’s Under 18s trounced rivals Liverpool 7-0, while the Under 16s thumped Burnley 6-0.
Against Liverpool, Lee Carsley’s young guns were 4-0 up before the break at the £200m City Football Academy thanks to goals from Joe Hardy, Phil Foden (two) and Luke Bolton.
Following the interval, Hardy hit another before a late brace from substitute Ian Carlo Povedo completed the rout.
