Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez has given suitors Manchester City hope of signing him in the future after speaking hopefully of a move away from the Volkswagen Arena. However, the Citizens won't be landing Fabinho from AS Monaco anytime soon.
Rodriguez was linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium over the summer, but a move never materialised despite reports he could be had for €25 million (£21.1 million).
In an interview with Swiss newspaper Blick, Rodriguez spoke confidently of his own ability, insisting he is worth that figure and hinting he could make a big-money move in the future (h/t Joe Short of the Daily Express):
I guess it was just meant to be this way.
