Pep Guardiola was impressed by young Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn during pre-season, according to the youngster’s father Bryan Gunn.
Gunn was offered the opportunity to gain some valuable first-team minutes during City’s pre-season campaign, putting in solid performances against German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old had an especially memorable time against Dortmund, saving three penalties in a shootout to secure victory for Guardiola’s team.
And now having seen Joe Hart leave the Etihad to sign on a season-long loan with Torino, Gunn has claimed a first-team role as City’s third choice keeper.
