Manchester City have become the first Premier League team to record over 1,000 pass attempts in a single match after achieving the feat en route to beating Swansea on Sunday afternoon.
Pep Guardiola's men enjoyed 83 per cent possession as they hit five goals past the struggling Swans at the Etihad Stadium and attempted 1,015 passes in the process, completing a staggering 942 (92% completion) of them.
It was the first time since Opta started their data recording in 2003 that a Premier League team has hit the four-figure landmark and means City now occupy the top five positions for most passes attempted in a game.
