Manchester City are reportedly "cautiously optimistic" of completing the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
According to Sam Lee of Goal, City have stepped up their interest in the Chilean, with his contract at the Emirates Stadium poised to expire at the end of the current season.
"The two clubs have held talks in recent days and the Blues are cautiously optimistic of getting a deal done, despite the Gunners' £35 million asking price," it's said in the report, with Arsenal said to be "resigned" to losing their No.
