Yaya Toure's career at Manchester City is in danger of fizzling out after Pep Guardiola refused to say if the Ivory Coast star would replace Fernandinho against Arsenal on Thursday.
With the Brazilian ruled out with a hamstring injury and Fabian Delph suspended, Toure is the obvious candidate to play as a defensive midfielder at the Emirates.
However, Guardiola gave another ambiguous response when asked if Toure would play, suggesting that it was up to the player to prove himself.
'It depends on him, it's as simple like that,' said the City boss, 'If he is coming back who he is, he is going to play.
