Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has urged referees to provide greater protection to his side following a number of dangerous tackles on his teammates.
The Premier League leaders have been subjected to some brutal challenges in recent weeks, with Kevin De Bruyne and Brahim Diaz suffering against West Brom, which followed Leroy Sane’s ankle injury as a result of a tackle by Cardiff City’s Joe Bennett.
Sane is facing seven weeks on the sidelines with ligament damage and will have to prove his fitness to claim his place in Germany’s World Cup squad for the summer.
