Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano rules out bringing 'genius' Lionel Messi to the Etihad: 'There is no chance of signing him'

Manchester City's sporting director Ferran Soriano has completely ruled out the chance of signing Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.

Despite City's financial muscle in the footballing world, Soriano insists there is 'no chance' of brining him to the Premier League and remains confident that the Argentina international won't be leaving the Nou Camp any time soon.

The 50-year-old got to know Messi personally during his tenure as financial vice-president of Barcelona between 2003 and 2008, and insists the attacker and his family are happy with life in Catalonia.
