Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany set to make comeback from injury in Crystal Palace FA Cup tie

Pep Guardiola says Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is ready to make his comeback at Crystal Palace on Saturday – 10 weeks after suffering his latest injury in a Premier League game at Selhurst Park.

Kompany damaged knee ligaments in a collision with his own goalkeeper Claudio Bravo when City won 2-1 at Palace in November, and was treated by Dr Ramon Cugat, the surgeon favoured by Guardiola, in Barcelona.

It was the latest injury to blight Kompany’s career at the Etihad but the 30-year-old returned on the bench against Tottenham last weekend after missing 12 games and is in contention to play against Palace in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
