Vincent Kompany is a 'massive player' for Manchester City, and was right to go off at half time to avoid the risk of injury, according to team-mate Gael Clichy.
Kompany, who made his first Premier League start of the season last weekend, was withdrawn at half time in the defeat by Manchester United on Wednesday night, with Pep Guardiola insisting it was a the player's request, because he was tired.
But Clichy says there is nothing to worry about, and that the City captain was 'sensible' to have himself replaced.
'Vinnie is a massive player for us,' Kompany told City's website.
