Manchester City are 'set to offer Sergio Aguero a role as club ambassador' after Argentine icon was forced to call quits on his career just months into his Barcelona stint due to a heart problem

Manchester City will offer club legend Sergio Aguero a role as an ambassador after the striker was forced into retirement earlier this season.

Aguero left the Etihad last summer to complete a move to Barcelona, but played just five games for the Spanish club before he was forced off during just his fifth appearance.

It emerged afterwards that the 33-year-old had a heart condition, and in an emotional press conference last month, attended by City boss Pep Guardiola, Aguero tearfully announced his retirement from the game.
