Man City's performance in Leicester win showed the good and the bad of their season but Pep Guardiola knows what he needs ahead of big summer

This was a day that summed up Manchester City’s season. Scintillating one minute, susceptible the next.

They overcame the champions of England but in a manner that reminded us all why this is a team heading for major surgery under Pep Guardiola in the summer.

It should have been plain sailing after David Silva and Gabriel Jesus fired Guardiola’s side two goals in front, and deservedly so in a first half they dominated. Instead City were left hanging on during seven minutes of injury-time for a win after Riyad Mahrez had messed up a chance to equalise for Leicester from the penalty spot.
