Manchester City have been on the hunt for a left-back after Benjamin Mendy fell down the pecking order last season and one player they were repeatedly after was Robin Gosens.
The 27-year-old was coming off the back of a fantastic season at Atalanta and had all the attributes Pep Guardiola looks for in a left-back, so it made sense that he was on their radar.
Although City are content to stick with Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko ahead of the new season, Michael Ball believes it’s a “no-brainer” to sign Gosens while he’s “in his prime”.
