According to the Sunday Mirror, Manchester City have opened talks with Phil Foden over a contract extension that will see him ‘treble wages’ as reward for his fine form in the last 12 months.
The 20-year-old has made 84 appearances in all competitions since rising through the youth ranks to our first-team, scoring 18 goals with 14 assists, but he’s come into his own in 2020. Foden has scored nine goals and made eight assists in his last 39 games across the board.
He’s started four of our six Premier League outings, two of our three Champions League games and one of our two EFL Cup matches this season, so City want to give him a wage that represents that of a typical first-team player.
