Manchester City are a club almost intrinsically linked with enormous riches in the modern game, but surprisingly they don't really throw around their weight in the transfer market, and by and large their business is done on the quiet without the need to completely empty the war chest.
There are of course exceptions - Jack Grealish joining for £100million two years ago immediately springs to mind - but by and large City's vast scouting network tend to identify a target and pursue them throughout the summer until they can get them to sign on the dotted line without being drawn into wearisome sagas.
