Manchester City were desperate to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this summer after losing Sergio Aguero, but their pursuit of the 28-year-old has been fruitless.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been unwilling to negotiate with the Sky Blues and wants no less than £150m for Kane, but City aren’t going to match his asking price.
This makes it unlikely that a deal will get over the line before the summer transfer window shuts. Kane has put the final nail in the coffin by telling supporters on social media that he “will be staying” in North London too.
