Manchester City are close to agreement with Palmeiras for centre back Vitor Reis after a breakthrough in talks on Monday.
The 19-year old, who can also play right-back, is valued at £34million. City are also working to finalise a fee for Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush this week and will sign Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
Palmeiras president Leila Pereira had confirmed City made an official bid last week which fell short of their valuation but talks have continued.
Palmeiras were understood to be demanding £34m for the highly-rated defender, who turned 19 on Sunday but City's need to strengthen their defence is greater as Kyle Walker pushes for his move to Milan.
