Vincent Kompany's fitness remains a major issue after he pulled out of Belgium's friendly with Netherlands right before kickoff on Wednesday night despite the defender not suffering another injury setback.
The Manchester City captain was named in the starting XI but was withdrawn minutes before Wednesday's 1-1 draw in Amsterdam after feeling some discomfort in the warmup.
Belgium manager Roberto Martinez insisted the 30-year-old had not suffered a fresh injury and was only left out as a precaution.
And while it would be appear to be good news that Kompany has not suffered another blow, it prompts concerns about the mental impact that his catalogue of injuries have had on him.
