Man City 'appalled by abuse of striker Khadija Shaw - as club reports 'racist and misogynistic messages' to the police after Women's Super League clash

Manchester City forward Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw was sent racist and misogynistic messages following their match against Arsenal, the club has announced.

The Women's Super League club confirmed in a statement that it has reported the matter to the relevant authorities.

Shaw, a Jamaican international, had come on as a 66th minute substitute in their 4-3 loss to Arsenal on Sunday at the Joie Stadium.

'Manchester City were appalled to learn that Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw was subjected to racist and misogynistic abuse following Sunday’s fixture,' a club statement read.

'Discrimination of any kind, either in stadiums or online, will not be tolerated and has absolutely no place inside or outside the game.
