Man City 3-0 Bayern Munich: Pep Guardiola's men take a giant step towards the Champions League semi-finals as Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland give them a dominant first leg win

Manchester City produced a clinical performance to beat Bayern Munich 3-0 as they took a huge step towards the last four of the Champions League.

Both sides went in search of the opening goal early on, with Erling Haaland and Jamal Musiala both going close, but it was Rodri who broke the deadlock with a stunning strike in the 27th minute. Picking the ball up 25 yards from goal the Spanish midfielder cut inside onto his weaker foot and curled the ball into the top corner.

Bayern started the second half strongly with Leroy Sane testing Ederson on multiple occasions, but City held firm and then punished the visitors for some sloppy defending as Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland found the net inside the final 20 minutes.
